Foreign Collaboration


Prof. Tonya Kowalski, Professor in Law at Washburn University, USA visited SLS, Pune as a Scholar-in-residence from 19th July 2013 to 20th August 2013. During her visit she conducted training on mooting skills, legal research, legal writing & mediation skills for the students of I year BA / BBA LL.B. and LLMShe also conducted guest lecture for II Year BA / BBA LLB students, conducted a workshop on Negotiation Skills, Client Counseling and Drafting Skills for the final year students of BA/BBA LLB & LLMand two faculty seminars / FDPs. 

Dr. Paul Kohler, Head of the School of Law at School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London visited SLS,Pune on 4th September 2013 to explore possibilities of student and faculty exchange and to promote research amongst the two institutes.

Professor David Bamford from Flinders Law School, Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia visited SLS, Pune on 4th Sept 2013. He delivered a guest lecture on Core Professional Skills and Ethics to the students of Fifth Year BBA/BALLB. The visit was followed by a proposal for a Study India Programme for students from Flinders from the 25th of Jan to the 2nd of February 2014.

Dr. Clemens Artz from Berlin School of Economics and Law, joined SLS, Pune as Scholar in Residence on 26th September 2013 and shall stay here till 26th March 2014. Presently Dr. Arzt is working on his research project on Police Reforms in India.

Ms. Elizabeth Anderton, International Recruitment Officer and Admissions Tutor, Cardiff University Law School, visited SLS, Pune on 27th Nov 2013 to discuss wide ranging options for student and faculty exchange through Semester Abroad Programme, Summer School and the possibility for the LL.M students to complete a part of their dissertation research at Cardiff University. 

Ms. Beverley Roberts, Postgraduate Programmes Manager, from University of Nottingham, visited SLS, Pune on 27th November 2013 to explore the possibility of organizing a unique Global Consortium for Human Rights as a Summer School Programme and to further student and faculty exchange programmes.
