SLAT will be conducted through 'CBT Mode'

ADMISSION PROCESS FOR B.A. LL.B (HONS.) & BB.A LL.B (HONS.) Academic Year 2023-24


Candidate seeking admission to Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS, Pune) should complete the following procedure:

  • It is mandatory to appear for SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) as a precondition for admission to SLS, Pune.
  • Candidate must complete the SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) online registration process.
  • Candidate must pay Rs. 1950/- as a SLAT Registration Fees.
  • Candidate must complete the SLS, Pune payment Rs. 1000/- per programme (i.e. B.A. LL.B (Hons.) or / and BB.A. LL.B (Hons.)) while filling the SLAT registration form.
    Note: It is mandatory to Register & Pay to both SLAT & SLS Pune. A candidate registered for SLAT and not registered for SLS, Pune by paying above mentioned fees will not be eligible for the next phase of PI-WAT process at SLS, Pune.

Eligibility


Qualification:

The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Students who have appeared for their Standard XII final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate at the time of the final admission.

INTAKE:

  1. The total intake is 300 seats [inclusive of 180 seats of BB.A. LL.B (Hons.) and 120 seats of B.A. LL.B (Hons.)].
  2. Separate Merit Lists for BB.A. LL.B (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B (Hons.) programme will be prepared and published. At the time of SLAT registration, it shall be mandatory for the candidates to clearly indicate the programme to which they wish to apply. A candidate is free to choose BOTH or ANY ONE programme.

Note: It is suggested that the candidates who have studied Arts/Social Sciences subjects for their qualifying examination may apply for B.A. LL.B (Hons.) programme. Similarly, those candidates who have studied Commerce/Accounts/Mathematics/Sciences may apply for BB.A LL.B (Hons.) programme. Further, the candidates are also free to make their own choice of selection of the programme depending on their ability, interest and opportunity. Please note that these two programmes differ only in the First Degree contents (either Humanities OR Business Administration), whereas the law courses offered in both the programmes are the same. Graduates in both streams are eligible for diverse legal careers and opportunities in Corporate, Litigation, Civil Services, Advocacy, Judiciary, Academics, jobs in International Organizations, International Admissions and others.

Differently Abled

(Differently Abled (DA) candidate means a candidate having any of the disabilities in accordance with the Persons with Disabilities Act – 1995 and as per revised Gazette of India Registered no: DL – (N)04/0007/2003-16 dated December 28,2016. The candidate will have to get the disability authenticated from Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC). The admission may be considered as regularized only after due authentication by SCHC.)

It includes children of defence personnel who died while in service or after retirement.)

*In case a candidate falls under more than one of the above categories (eg. Scheduled Caste as well as Differently Abled or any other combination), he/she would need to select any one Category (i.e. Either Scheduled Caste OR Differently Abled in the case of example mentioned above) at the time of filling up the registration form. The category selected by the candidate at the time of filling the registration form will be considered to be his/her category for the entire admission process and his/her benefits and entitlements shall be according to such selected category. He/ She will not be able to claim benefit under the other category/s at any stage of admission on any account whatsoever.

Both SLAT and SLS, Pune Payments can be made using Credit Card / Debit Card /Net Banking / RTGS / NEFT/ Online Banking provided on the SLAT Registration Form.

Demand Draft:

PAYMENT THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT:

Submit a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 1000/- per programme from any Nationalized Bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.

Choose the mode of Payment as “DD Payment” in "Make Payment" Tab. Take a print of the payment advice form, fill in the DD Details, sign and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat [STS] only at:

The Symbiosis Test Secretariat will authenticate the details of Demand Draft and will send you an email confirming the payment. Only after the realisation of payment, would you be able to view your Admit Card.

Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT):

Please note that the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2021 will be conducted conducted through 'CBT Mode'

SLAT will be an online admission test for 60 marks. Structure of SLAT includes 60 questions for 1 mark each covering Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General Knowledge. Total duration of test SLAT is 60 minutes.

After declaration of SLAT result, SLS Pune will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for Online PI (Personal Interaction) & 'Home Based Online Proctored Mode' WAT (Written Ability Test) process.

Please Note: Name of the candidate will appear in the list of shortlisted candidates for PI-WAT only if he/she has registered and paid (programme wise fee @Rs.1000/- for each programme) to SLS, Pune while filling SLAT registration form

Online Writing Ability Test (WAT): WAT is conducted to test the writing ability of the candidate. The candidates are required to write a short essay on the topic given. The topic can be from social, political and legal domain.

Personal Interaction (PI):Personal Interaction is intended to test the Personal Attributes, inclination towards law as a career, overall personality and communication skills, Extracurricular and Co-curricular activities, and elementary knowledge of law of a candidate.

PI (Personal Interaction):

  1. PI (Personal Interaction) - 30 Marks

Online PI of shortlisted candidates will be conducted online by panel of experts from Industry / Academia.

WAT (Writing Ability Test):

  1. WAT (Writing Ability Test) – 20 Marks

WAT (Writing Ability Test) will be conducted Online Home-Based Proctored Mode.

Slot booking: The candidate needs to book a slot for PI at SLS, Pune. Slot booking link for shortlisted candidates will be available on our website, www.symlaw.ac.in. If a slot is not booked by the candidate within stipulated date & time a forceful allotment will be done. The candidate needs to check the website of SLS, Pune for status (shortlisted or not) and for booking the slot for PI.

Reporting for PI: Shortlisted candidates must upload scanned copies of their original documents (STRICTLY IN PDF Format ONLY) as specified in the intimation for PI e.g. 12th Std. Mark Sheet, Provisional Passing Certificate from School/College, Caste / Category Certificate (IF APPLICABLE) for SC/ST/KM/DA and Children/wards of Defense Personnel, photo identity proof - Aadhar Card / License / PAN Card/Passport, Certificates of Curricular, Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities.

Declaration of Merit Lists:

Based on the 50 % weightage of scores for SLAT, 30% for PI and 20% for WAT, the Merit lists will be declared on our web-site, www.symlaw.ac.in
