Workshop on IPR Sensitization for SID

The Intellectual Property Cell and Symbiosis Law School, Pune of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) organized an IPR Sensitization workshop for faculty members of Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) on 21st July 2018.

Introductory remarks were given by Dr. Shashikala Gurpur, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune where she motivated the faculty and researchers of SID for considering publishing later after they have ensured filing for potential Intellectual property through the IP Cell. She appreciated the efforts and innovative work of the faculty members of SID. She then provided the highlights of IP Policy, SIU. 

Following topics were covered in the workshop:

• Procedures and Compliances under IP Policy
• Do’s and Don’ts for inventors and creators
• Affiliation and Ownership of IP
• Invention disclosure form as per IP Policy
• Subject Matter of IPR
• Overview of law relating to IPR
• Prior-art search
• IPR Protection

Dr. Rupal Rautdesai, Associate Professor of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Mr. Amol Sapatnekar, Teaching Associate and Patent expert and Mr. Priyank Gupta, Partner at Strat Juris Partners which is a lead Intellectual Property Law Firm in Pune, were the resource persons. Each of these resource persons provided practical insights as to the creation of intellectual property and protection of the same.

15 faculty members attended this workshop. The workshop was interactive and dealt with several doubts of the participants regarding protection of their Intellectual Property. The venue for the workshop was at SID conference hall on the fourth floor of the building.
