SLS-P conducted its annual Alumni Meet on 31st March 2019. The Chief Guests for the occasion were Hon. Ms. Justice Sujata V. Manohar (Retd.), Judge Supreme Court of India, Adv. Sampath Bulusu, GeneralManager-Legal at Shell Hazira LNG and Alumni Convener, Symbiosis Law School, Pune. Adv. Amit Singh Sethi, Former Additional Advocate General, Punjab was the Guest of Honour for the occasion. Dr. Shashikala Gurpur, Fulbright Scholar, Director, SLS-P, Dean, Faculty of Law, SIU expressed her delight that alumni from the first batch till the most recent batch were present together at the event. She extended her heartfelt gratitude to the alumni who have garnered support to the institution. The Chief Guest spoke on ‘The Role of Legal Professionals in Serving the Roads of Justice Better.’ She remarked that working within timelines has become an eroded concept and that litigation today has become expensive which lasts for several years. She highlighted the role of education in inculcating responsibility. The Alumni Directory and the newsletter -‘Nexus’ was launched by the dignitaries. The event witnessed a number of other activities for the alumni like the Annual Alumni Legal Quiz, a performance by the SLS-P band and a dance performance by the college’s dance crew.
