Symbiosis Law School, Pune of Symbiosis International University becomes a part of the prestigious Erasmus+ Grant


Symbiosis Law School Pune, in partnership with Sofia University, Bulgaria, has received a three year Erasmus+ capacity building in higher education project on European Studies Revitalized Across Asian Universities, which carries a Grant of 7,69,239 Euros to partner universities from India, China, Poland, France, Italy, UK and Bulgaria.

The European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme is a funding scheme to support activities in the fields of education and training. The project will give the University the opportunity to send faculty members to obtain specialized training and participate in seminars in the best European universities in the field. Symbiosis International University and Symbiosis Law School, Pune will be involved in further dissemination process and result in increased visibility and status both at home and in Europe.

The project will also provide a platform to enhance internationalization through team work and provide a heuristic basis for opening new perspectives in education through cooperation.

Symbiosis Law School, Pune and Sofia University, Bulgaria will establish a partnership and develop an EU Law teaching and learning environment across Asia. The objectives are to present expert workshops and build model European Law teacher training materials with international and comparative perspective and to build a base of qualified international trainers who can sustainably spread training to other Indian law schools, and potentially to other nations in the region, as well.

The Erasmus+ Grant accorded to Symbiosis Law School, Pune thus will go a long way in furthering the Vision and Mission of Symbiosis International University in terms of promoting international understanding through quality education as well as contributing towards knowledge generation, dissemination and cross-cultural sensitization. Symbiosis Law School, Pune was also previously a part of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Global Legal Consortium across China, Thailand, Brazil, Portugal, France and Germany, which resulted in impressive student and faculty exchange programme and the establishment of the EU Area Study Centre under the aegis of Symbiosis Law School, Pune runs the Certificate Programme in European Legal Studies since the last eight years.

Erasmus+ Grant to Symbiosis Law School, Pune will unleash an impressive number of faculty exchanges amongst the partner universities leading to capacity – building enrichment of the academic environment and teaching pedagogy.
