Symbiosis Law School, Pune organized a training programme on Legal Skills and Advocacy for the First year of BALLB and BBALLB students, LLM Students and also First year of LLB Students. The resource Person was Prof. Rebecca Todd who visited as a Scholar in Residence at Symbiosis Law School, Pune from 14th September to 1st October 2018. The legal skills and advocacy training was a 5 days long training programme from 17th September 2018 to 21st September 2018, which was conducted in the Multipurpose Hall, first floor and Room No.212 of Symbiosis Law School, Pune on the second floor.
Rebecca Todd is a University Counsel at Antioch University, New Hampshire, USA. She teaches as well as handles legal briefs at the Antioch University. She is also the Foreign and Field Studies Director at the University. She is also a recipient of Fulbright Visiting Lecturer Fellowship from December 2007 to June 2008.
The training session was conducted to train students on Mooting Skills and identification of legal issues. The programme included training on how to write a memorial, how to search for laws and analyse case laws. The training also covered legal research and writing, in which modes of citation were also taught. Total 385 students participated in the training. The training provided hands on through simulation exercises, drafting and oral presentations by each of the students.
