Flame University Sports Fest: 1st to 4th February 2018

  • Boys’ Football Team - 2nd Position

  • Boys’ (doubles) reaching the semi-finals

Inter-Committee Futsal Tournament 7th - 9th February 2018

  • The girls’ team of the Sports Committee bagged the first place, winning the finals against the ProSource Committee.
  • The boys of the Marketing Committee faced off against the Sports Committee in the finals of the Inter-Committee Futsal Tournament. The Marketing Committee won (2-1).

Sympulse - Symbiosis Centre for Media & Communication(SCMC): 17th January - 21st January 2018

  • Badminton Girls (singles) and mixed (doubles) made it to the semi-finals.
  • The volleyball (girls) and basketball (girls) were the runners up.

Equillibria (Symbiosis School of Economics): 16th January - 18th January 2018

  • Girls’ Basketball team won the first-place

O.P. Jindal Global University (MAGNUS): 14th March 2018

  • Rhea Lobo and Hannah George of the Athletics team won a bronze medal in the 1500m and 3000m events respectively.
  • Rhea Lobo won a silver in the long jump event.
  • Priyamvada Subhash won silver medals in Shot Put and Discus Throw.
  • Smriti Ekka secured a gold in Discus Throw.
  • PrarthanaNachappa secured a bronze in Discus Throw
  • TheWomen’sRelay teamfinishedsecondin the 4x 100m event.
  • The Men’s Relay team finished third in the 4x100m event
  • The girls also bagged a third place in Triple Jump.
  • The Basketball Women’s team came second
  • The Football Men’s team came second.
  • The Chess team reached the Semi-finals.
  • The Volleyball Men’s team reached the quarterfinals.
  • The Women’s team reached the Semi-finals.

Annual Report for the Year 2019-2020 

The period of July – December was filled with activities for the Sports Cell, SLS Pune. The first activity was participation in the Inter-Institute Badminton Event where SLS-Pune Women’s Badminton Team secured the second position. The event was held at Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) from 30th July to 2nd Aug. at Lavale Hill base Campus.

It was then followed by participations in various other activities like the Inter-Institute Chess Tournament 2019-20 organized by Symbiosis Institute of Geoinformatics (SIG) (on 1st to 2nd Aug 2019 at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) Khadki. The important achievement of note here is of Soumiljit Singh Gill, who secured the third position. A few students were also selected to represent the University at the AIU Tournaments. 

SLS-Pune also participated in the Inter-Institute Swimming Tournament 2019-20 organized by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune (SIBM) (on 6th and 7th August 2019 at Kirkee Campus. The important achievement of note here is of Ehsaas Bhadoria who secured the second position in 50m Butterfly.

These events were then followed by the Inter-Institute SIU Volleyball organised by SLS, Pune in association with the University Sports Board. It was a 3-day event (from 26thto 28thAugust 2019 at New Viman Nagar Campus Courts). The participating pool saw a total of 37 teams and nearly 400 players [22 teams (Men) and 15 teams (Women)]

The event was fun and energy filled event with players not just coming from the institutes in and around Pune but also from other cities where various Symbiosis Institutes are based. The awardees of the event were as follows –

  • Winner (Men’s Category) – SIMS
  • Winner (Women’s Category) – SCMC
  • Best Player Male – Himanshu Tyagi (SIMS)
  • Best Player Female – Mitali Dhar (SCMC)

The selection committee appointed by the University sports Board provisionally selected players to represent the Symbiosis International University at Inter-Varsity West –Zone (Men/ Women) Competition after the event.

Simultaneously to Volleyball, SLS-Pune team participated in the Inter-Institute Tennis Tournament 2019-20 organized by Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) from 26th to 28th August 2019 at New Viman Nagar Courts. The important achievements to note here are of Sahiti Annam who secured the first place in the women’s category and Adhiraaj Sandhu who secured the second place in the men’s category.

After that the Sports Cell organised a journey to the National Law University Jodhpur for their Sports Fest – YUVARDHA. In that fest, a total of 86 members participated in various sporting events from the 26th to 29th of September, 2019.

The Major highlights of the event are as follows – 

  • The Men’s Football bagged the gold medal by defeating NLU-J in the finals.
  • The Women’s Football team bagged the first position by defeating GNLU, Gujarat in the finals.
  • The Volleyball Women’s team bagged the third position by defeating GNLU, Gujarat.
  • The Cricket Team secured the third position by defeating UPES, Dehradun.
  • Sahiti Annam bagged a gold medal in Tennis Singles.
  • The Basketball Team bagged a silver medal in the Women’s Category.
  • In Athletics – 
  • Nirnay Shanbough bagged silver medal in 1500-meter men’s category.
  • Anukriti Tomar secured second position in the 800-meter women’s category.
  • Smriti Ekka and Sameeha Ashraf secured the 1
  • The women’s relay team consisting ofSmriti Ekka, Parinishtha Ganz, Deepthi and Sharanaya, won a silver.
  • Smriti Ekka and Prarthna Nachappa wonboth first and second position in high jump respectively.
  • Praneet Nambiar won a bronze medal in Shotput men’s category.

The SIU basketball was also conducted in the month of September in which both the girls and the boy’s teams secured the second position.




List of achievements by SLS teams in Symbhav

Symbhav is one of Pune’s biggest, most vibrant college fests. As a part of Symbhav, an annual Sports Tournament is held, organized by the Sports Cell of SLS. As a part of this tournament, 12 sport events were held, right from Chess to Football. The fest witnessed dedicated sportsmen and women give it their all as they fought for their place in the tournament. The tournament took place from the 28rdof February to the 1st of March. The Symbiosis Law School, team participated in almost all the sporting events and the following were the positions backed by them:
